CHOKE CABLE
Replacement

Remove the air cleaner assembly to allow access. Detach the clip securing the choke cable to the abutment bracket, then slacken the clearing screw at the cable trunnion and disconnect the cable from the carburettor.
Working inside the car, remove the screws securing the heater assembly under the parcel shelf and lower the heater to gain access to the rear side of the switch panel. Disconnect the lead from the heater switch. Remove the nuts securing the switch panel and pull the panel forward from the dash. Remove the locking nut and washer securing the choke outer cable to the switch panel. Pull the complete cable assembly through the bulkhead grommet and withdraw it from the switch panel.
Install the new cable in the reverse order of above. Ensure that the cable has 1/16 in (2 mm) free movement before it starts to pull on the fast idle cam lever.
